Role: Production Designer
Sage, a graduate engineering student, is called in as a last-minute hire for a brand ambassador position at a high-end networking event. Things get weird.
I worked closely with writer/director Christy Stevens and co-director Jay Brinn during pre-production; designing the unsettling, liminal space that Sage moves through in this short film.
Designs were made in sketchup, then realized via prop/decor sourcing and some fabrication. I also studied the basics of Ikeabana, a Japanese style of floristry. The arrangements I curated were designed to invoke both sides of the story Christy created. At first glance you might appreciate the time and effort put into a piece of floral art - look again and you notice the corporate lineup of 'unique' pieces, they lose their taste and intricacy in place of their purpose to 'fill the void'.
